We asked

her

a few questions...

What is the most rewarding part about working in Advancement at ASIJ?

Supporting the ASIJ community. Working in Advancement is one of the most rewarding areas because we get to connect with the entire community and see the impact that they have on our school. In Advancement, we get to connect with our most engaged alumni, parents, alumni parents, former faculty and staff, and friends. Whether it is our incredible PTA putting together on campus events, connecting our amazing alumni to our partnerships team to work with students, or our generous community giving back financially to our school, there is never a shortage of incredible things our community is doing. It is a privilege to work with the ASIJ community.

Why is philanthropic support so important for our school?

Like many independent schools, tuition doesn’t fully cover our school’s operating costs. Donations to the Annual Fund help close that gap, and allow us to continue to invest in program enhancements that benefit the teaching and learning of all of our students and faculty.

Support from our community of both our Annual Fund and our Endowment ensures that we are not only well resourced as a school now, but that we are financially secure for many years to come.

What do you like doing in your free time?

I love exploring the food scene in Tokyo and the great restaurants the city has to offer. I also really enjoy traveling and exploring new cities whenever I get the chance. There is so much to see and do in Japan, but I especially love going up to the mountains to ski in the winter months.
