October 26th
Presented by Homa Tavangar and Will Richardson from The Big Questions Institute
Hosted by The American School in Japan
Homa and Will joined us to discuss what our children need in order to thrive in the future, and the type of rigor our kids need in school to be successful.
For over three decades, Homa’s work has addressed themes of culture, innovation, leadership, global citizenship and global competence, and deep diversity, equity, belonging and inclusion. She is the author of Growing Up Global: Raising Children to Be At Home in the World (Random House, 2009), Global Kids (Barefoot, 2019), and The Global Education Toolkit for Elementary Learners (Sage/Corwin, 2014).
A former public school educator of 22 years, Will has developed an international reputation over the last 15 years as a leading thinker and writer about the intersection of social online learning networks, education, and systemic change. In 2017, Will was named one of 100 global "Changemakers in Education" by the Finnish site HundrED, and was named one of the Top 5 "Edupreneurs to Follow" by Forbes.
Please note that Homa and Will are joining us virtually from the east coast of the US, so this event will take place at 8pm (on October 26th). The conversation will be recorded for those who can’t join us at that time.
