The American School in Japan is committed to ensuring that all students are safeguarded and protected from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect. Upon employment, all faculty and staff members are required to sign a student protection agreement and undergo a background check conducted by a professional agency.

Applicants for all teaching and leadership positions at ASIJ must have an active, confidential profile with either Schrole Connect or Search Associates. Direct applications will not be considered.
ASIJ’s most active period for recruiting new faculty each year is between October and December, although positions are occasionally advertised outside this window.
ASIJ does not prefer one recruiting agency over the other. One agency requires fees from a candidate to establish a profile, while the other does not. If you are a candidate with both agencies, it is not necessary to apply through both platforms.
Please note that once positions are posted, ASIJ continually reviews applications and interviews candidates. We reserve the right to make appointments when we feel we have identified the right candidate for any position.
